1490 km Walk across Namibia

“Having faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase. " - Martin Luther King Jr.
Well, that's how all my travels have started. The day I stepped into the fashion industry or into a film audition in NYC, down a runway or when two weeks of volunteering ended up being 10 years of living in Africa.
My bushman "brother!" Amace, my older "brother"! Ui, and I, a Norwegian, crossed Namibia from the east side of the country and all the way to the sea in the west. ON FOOT
Our hike over Namibia was a 1490 km long  journey from the wild east of Namibia all the way to the ocean in the west. A journey that we were going to complete in a month. We walked without money to check if it was possible to survive with what we could gather and hunt ourselves, as the San people did back when they moved across southern Africa.

12 day traverse across Iceland

The distance was 460 KM, walking from the North of the country to the black beaches in the south. The I walked in September so the weather was wild and ever changing, but the lanscape was still sunkissed. I had some difficulites crossing rivers in certain places and had to get help across. During this trip I stayed in hostels, unlike the Namibia expedtion where I slept around the fire. I did not have to worry about dangrous wildlife this time either, so in many ways this was a walk in the park.

Walking fundraiser - 450 km in NOrway

In 2013 I walked 450 km to raise money and awareness around my organization in Namibia. I walked from Asker to Kristiansand. I called it the Big Cat Walk, because this was the first walk I ever did off the runway and a walk that was for something other then fashion. WIth every step I was hoping to raise awareness for Big Cat conservation in Namibia.
