Finding my way
“If you assume that there is no hope, then you guarantee that there will be no hope. If you assume that there is an instinct for freedom, that there are opportunities to change things, then there is a possibility that you can contribute to making a better world.”
We move in hope that we will not stand still.
Afraid that life will stop.
If we stop
We encounter great things
However we fear that these things are not great enough
We see the sun disappear in the horizon
Scared that it will not rise again
Where do we walk with all this fear
What is it that our hearts want to share
What is our true purpose?
In a dark alley we look for light
In the closeness we pick up a fight
Why are we so disconnected and far apart
Why do we try to move out of our own hearts?
I’m sitting here in New York City
Thinking about the things that can make life more real
But in a moment of stillness
I see and understand
That were we live is just a place, it’s just a land
What we dream about is in our heads
What we should achieve is what we are fed
But what our hearts echoes and shouts
Are words that cannot be shaped by a mouth.
I am full of gratitude and truth
I am blind
And I can see
That what is important
Lives in you and in me.
